The Organisation:
With substantial operations across Australia, this national player is currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer who has a combination of sound payroll skills coupled with a proactive approach.  This represents a busy and varied role that will provide indispensable support to the Payroll Manager.   The Manager has been described as bubbly and down to earth and has a wealth of experience. She is very supportive of her staff and clear in her expectations. She doesn't like to micro-manage people and would ideally be interested in chatting with people who can work well autonomously.  This position is as a result of a maternity cover and is expected to run for 6 months, with a potential extension.
The Position:
As an experienced Payroll Officer with experience working in a full function payroll capacity, you will ultimately be responsible for completing weekly and monthly pay runs, setting up new employees on the system as well as managing any issues arising from terminations or resignations. You should have some experience interpreting awards.  You will also play a vital role in supporting the Payroll Manager with month end and year end processes including superannuation, payroll tax and worker's compensation.
Your Profile:
To be considered for this role, it is imperative that you are able to demonstrate sound full function payroll experience, preferably on larger systems. To truly succeed and differentiate yourself in this position, you will need great attention to detail, a proactive approach and the ability to integrate yourself seamlessly into new work environments. The payroll department has a reputation internally within the business as being an excellent service provider to its employees and contractors so the ability and willingness to provide extremely strong customer service when dealing with people is essential. Although Chris  experience will be highly regarded, it is by no means a requirement for this position.
