National manufacturing organisation is recruiting a Financial Accountant to support with end of month accounting and reporting & projects in finance

  • 12-month Fixed Term Contract. Start in January
  • Northside location: Onsite parking or public transport close by
  • Several key projects leading up to an ERP systems upgrade
The Organisation:
This large, national manufacturing organisation has a strong product range that has resulted in impressive product penetration across Australia along with amazing sales. With ongoing growth through Covid-19 and several projects in the works to improve business performance and reporting, a need has been created for a Project Financial Accountant to help support on several key projects over the next 12 months. You will be reporting into a supportive manager who has been with the business for several years and who is highly respected in the business. Although this is initially a contract role, it could extend or convert to a permanent role but there is no guarantee at this point. 

The Position:
Working as part of a small corporate finance team, you will be reporting to the Group Finance Manager and will be responsible for a diverse range of duties. This includes:
  • The financial and management accounting of two entities. This will include end of month accounting processes including journals, accruals, GL recs, etc.
  • You will also be responsible for all the financial reporting for the two entities  
  • A fixed assets audit to help prepare for the system upgrade 
  • A review and clean-up of the General Ledger ahead of a large ERP system upgrade 
Your Profile:
You will passionately love and embrace this organisation and role if you enjoy working in busy, dynamic environments with variety in your working day. You will need to demonstrate a good blend of financial and management accounting experience. You should be ready to commence immediately but as this is a business-critical 12-month role, we can wait if you have a 4-week notice period. The offices will be closed between Xmas and New Years.  This role will require some travel to various branches so you should be able to drive. As you will be working with various branches and interfacing with stakeholders, the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport will be critical. Preferably you will be CPA or CA qualified or part-qualified. Experience managing fixed asset registers will be critical. As you will be helping prepare for a large ERP systems upgrade, good systems and Excel skills are imperative. You should also be adept ad digging into data to find issues or discrepancies.
