Expanding organisation seek an exper DevOps Engineer to report to the COO. Work on interesting projects as well as BAU within a cloud environment.

Our client is growing, with strong potential for the future through a program of organic growth and acquisitions. With a strong leadership team, it’s an exciting time to be joining their business.

They currently require a DevOps Engineer to collaborate with the development, infrastructure, operations and testing teams.  This role will manage software releases by overseeing tasks of the development, operations and testing teams. This includes responsibility for ensuring existing networks are considered during the design, planning, scaling and testing phases. Work will be from home and in the office.

Primary responsibilities for this role include:
  • Provide infrastructure design, configuration, and support services to ensure software designs are secure, scalable, highly available, and maintainable in production with event/logging implemented
  • Complete risk assessments on designs, including options to mitigate any issues identified
  • Work with the QA team to validate that software releases are successfully tested before deployment
  • Be responsible for ensuring software is deployed on-time during the deployment phase 
  • Utilise monitoring to ensure production software is behaving as expected after release
  • Work closely with project managers, support, operations, and development to automate where possible
  • Perform regular reviews on infrastructure, applications and systems configurations and remediate where necessary
To be successful in this role the following skills and knowledge are required:
  • Several years experience in a similar DevOps Engineering role 
  • Ability to manage IT infrastructure that supports software in both managed data centres and the Cloud
  • Cloud experience either Azure or AWS
  • Ideally scripting experience with Powershell or Python etc
  • Ideally Git source code management
  • Experience with a variety of configuration management and monitoring software such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Azure Monitor, Nagios, Splunk
  • Excellent communication skills to enable collaboration across teams
