Platinum Recruitment is proud to partner exclusively with the Otago Regional Council for the search campaign for the newly created role of People & Culture Partner. This is an exciting time for the organisation as they continue to tick off a long list of community goals

At the Otago Regional Council (ORC), our mission is ‘for our future’. We’re here to protect and enhance the environment, and enable our communities to do the same. To be sure we can deliver on our responsibilities, we are evolving as an organisation, and we’re not overstating when we say we have some really big targets to reach. Now we need the right people, in the right roles, to help us to get there.
This is an exciting time for a passionate, resilient, HR practitioner to join our team, partnering with our people leaders to provide advice and guidance on HR best-practice, undertaking a role which covers the full spectrum of generalist HR activities.

Solutions focused and a strategic thinker, you will be renowned for your ability to form productive, effective and meaningful working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. In order to hit the ground running at ORC, you will have prior experience in the field of human resources (ideally at the advisory level) and a genuine willingness to move into an agile team with big ambitions.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated HR generalist to make a new role their own, in an organisation where the difference you are making is tangible.
Key Responsibilities for the position include;
  • HR systems review, development and implementation;
  • HR best-practice advisory services (including change management);
  • L&D structure, development and coordination;
  • Recruitment services to a growing business;
  • Industrial relations with our Union partners;
  • Leadership and culture development;
  • Continuous improvement of the HR framework at ORC – policies, procedures, reporting and much more!
If it sounds like we’re asking a lot well, we are. In exchange, we offer flexible working arrangements, market benefits and access to ongoing support, challenge and development.

And if you’re thinking of joining us from afar… We think Otago’s a pretty special place. It covers a vast area – the third largest local government region in New Zealand. Those who call Otago home enjoy access to mountains, coastal lowlands, dramatic rivers and wild beaches. Our environment here is part of who we are, and at ORC, we work each day to look after it.
