Platinum are excited to partner with the Otago Regional Council on their recruitment campaign for the role of Senior Transport Planner.

A unique and exciting planning opportunity has arisen within the organisation within their Transportation team for a Senior Planner.

About the role:
Reporting to the Manager Transport, the Senior Transport Planner will play a key policy/planning role in influencing the shape and effectiveness of land transport and public transport networks across the Otago region.

This role oversees the development, maintenance, monitoring & review of transport policies, strategies & plans including the Regional Land Transport & Regional Public Transport Plans.
Key responsibilities of the role include;
  • Articulate & represent the councils transport strategy at both local & central government level
  • Manage complex policy / planning projects
  • Lead, motivate, participate & engage with project teams
  • Effective stakeholder engagement with the community & internal staff
About you:
We are on the hunt for a candidate with previous planning / policy experience in a professional environment. Additionally, you will have experience in Project & Contract Management. Knowledge of the legislative framework for public infrastructure is a big advantage as well.
You could come from a government background, consultancy or even civil engineering with a passion for public transportation.
