Deputy DON (Registered Nurse) Aged Care: Far-South Coast: $100,000 + super

Outstanding Deputy Director of Nursing (Registered Nurse) position available representing this dynamic health & aged care organisation. We are looking for an experienced aged care clinician to manage the clinical service delivery within this lovely aged care residence based on NSW's Far-South Coast (close to he NSW/VIC Border). Supported by an insightful Facility Manager, you will be rewarded with a generous salary package, up to $100,000 + super (dependent on experience). You will enjoy support from an experienced multi-disciplinary clinical care team as well as ACFI & Quality support from Head Office. The Position:

  • Undertake & manage direct resident care, having participated fully in the assessment, planning & evaluation of care needs. 
  • To undertake the delivery of care. With the support of the Manager, to overview and manage all aspects of day to day running of a residential home, including promoting the safeguarding of the service user's welfare whilst promoting independence & diversity to ensure individual needs are met.
  • Mentor, support and develop staff, including supervision and appraisal to maximise their performance and ensure high standards of care, values, ethical standards, equality and diversity, policies and procedures, legislation contractual and inspection framework requirements are met.
  • Daily management, motivation & supervision of residents and staff.
  • A good understanding of the changing landscape of Aged Care.
  • Provide operational support for the redesign, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisations operations to ensure a consistently excellent service.

The Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years aged care clinical management experience
  • Previous experience managing clinical care in aged care facilities
  • Demonstrated staff leadership skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in ACFI
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation standards
  • Superior communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised and an ability to use and set up systems
  • Experience in managing/mentoring care staff and success in managing change.
