Our client an exciting start-up is moving to Australia and are looking for a Business Development Manager to join them on a full time basis.

Our client a successful startup and high growth business, are expanding their workforce globally.  Joining them will provide exposure to a wide range of opportunities that is not commonly found in established businesses.  From direct engagement with suppliers, negotiation on supply contracts, recruitment, team management, to strategic planning in each market.  You will have the opportunity to shape and scale a fast growing industry. Further solidifying them as the leader in their space.
In business development, they are growing their team rapidly in each market as well as geographically.  They now have teams in 20 countries, working tirelessly in building our supplier network.
This position is responsible for the management of suppliers in a wide variety of verticals, including attractions, tours, activities, transportations and travel essentials across the Australia and New Zealand region. 
Successful candidate requires leadership skill in a multicultural environment, understanding of the market landscape, closely involved in supply side technology development that cultivates long term competitive advantage in the travel experience business.

What you’ll do
  • Be familiar with travel-related products, specifically on activities, tours, and transportation for your region of ANZ
  • Conduct cold calls, clearly deliver my clients brand value to business partners and negotiate the best deals;
  • Develop and maintain profitable business relationship with partners within your markets;
  • Identify market trends and provide market & competitor analysis to optimize business strategies.
What you’ll need
  • >3 years of destination management or OTA supply experience or local merchant acquisition. Familiarity with travel products, experience with attractions, activities, tours and transportation preferred;
  • Bachelor degree in hospitality or business management preferred;
  • Fluent English essential 
  • Strong commercial sense, as well as analytical, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Confident, self-motivated and goal-oriented personality;
  • Globally minded and comfortable working with people from different cultural backgrounds and in different time zones;
  • A start-up attitude – highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your sleeves attitude that’s not afraid to work independently when required.
