The Company

This manufacturing business has delivered excellent results through a strong focus on reducing cost through better processes and driving plant reliability. To continue developing in this area and keep delivering great results, they are seeking the services of a Project / CI Manager to lead the Capital programme roll out through execution of a LEAN strategy, whilst providing superior technical knowledge.

The Role

Reporting into the General Manager your responsibilities will include; 
  • Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing engineering strategy with strong focus on quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimising and driving engineering excellence
  • Responsible for providing leadership, outstanding people skills and management to a team of engineers.
  • End to end Project Management of multi million dollar, multi discipline capital projects including all installation, managing contractors and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
  • Full budgetary responsibility for the department.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
Required Background

To be successful in this role you will have the following experience, traits and qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering.
  • Proven background delivering complex multi million dollar capital projects and implementation of Project Management systems and processes to analyse the effectiveness of new capital.
  • Experience within a large FMCG manufacturing plant.
  • Must have the ability to manage a small team of trades / engineers and be able to engage, influence and support change initiatives
  • Experience across Continuous Improvement / LEAN tools, with success in driving change across process improvement
  • Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders including senior and line management and permanent and casual employees.
