Exciting opportunity for a Process Development Technologist to play a key role in leading commercialisation of products and product improvements

Allied Pinnacle has two immediate vacancies for Process Development Technologists, based in either Sydney or Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis. These roles will be instrumental in leading the commercialisation of new products and product improvements leading up to launch. Prior to the commercialisation phase, the roles will contribute to the design and development of new products and processes, along with product and process improvements, from brief through to launch.
Key accountabilities include:  
  • Know Allied Pinnacle’s product portfolio and respective process capabilities by site
  • Develop technical and process information for respective products categories through extensive understanding of products and process capability.
  • Explore and understand innovation in process capabilities to drive growth through differentiated products or cost efficiencies.
  • Process compliance for all projects – status updates, project team meetings, trials / production runs completed, products (in line with QAS) submitted to customers, and projects launched on time.
  • In line with the brief, design process capabilities and controls, scale up new product and improvement projects – trials and production planned in line with Operations, delivered on time and to process capability and quality targets, to achieve Allied Pinnacle’s Growth through Innovation and cost targets.
  • Product quality and process measures agreed during commercialisation and monitored post launch. All technical documentation completed for launch.
  • Annual performance reviews against agreed KPIs. Active participation in Allied Pinnacle’s safety management programmes. Report hazards in a timely manner.  
The successful applicant will possess:  
  • Food Technology / Food Science or Engineering degree preferred, or Milling or Baking qualifications with food manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in food manufacturing. Must have an intimate knowledge of how unit operations work, process controls and tolerances – understand the ‘technology of stainless steel’.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality – plan trials, agree on process measures and quality standards, run trials and report outcomes.
  • Partnering with Innovation – Product Development – provide process capability knowledge to guide product design.
  • Advocate ‘quality’ in everything you do.
  • Collaborate with Sales - Customer interface, product brief, technical know-how.
  • Competent in MS Office.
  • Prepare reports with outcomes and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated Project Management and Problem-Solving skills.
