About the role

This multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is a leader in its field, globally. In New Zealand they tackle the big projects. Their current and projected pipeline of work is very stable and the work is varied and interesting. You'll have exposure to a multitude of different projects to apply your skills as a geotechnical engineer. In the main you'll get stuck into detailed design. This will include anything from a piling platform, earthworks and retaining structures, considerations for passive protection structures, through to deep shaft drilling, and much more. You'll communicate with the client(s) and the Project Engineer to understand the project requirements and carry out research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of ground conditions at the project site(s). You'll be tasked with project management of small to medium sized projects. You'll also be involved in bid work creation and variations. 
While you won't have any direct reports, you may be responsible for the development of others through providing guidance, training and feedback.

Skills & experience
Ideally you've spent at least 5-6 years in a consultancy where you've had client-facing experience. You've had experience with site investigation and project managed the delivery of small to medium projects.  You'll have the confidence to hold your own while talking to clients, and be able to explain yourself articulately. 
  • Degree qualified BEng
  • Minimum 5 years years experience
  • Working towards your Chartership

  • Base salary $90K-100K
+ Profit share (typically $6-10K per year)
