Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high performing team. Applications from Judges Clerks also welcome.
- Big firm processes
- Broad range of civil/commercial litigation
- Key player in the Bay of Plenty legal market
The firm is one of the key players in the Bay of Plenty legal market and has continued to expand through growth and merger in recent years. They are proud of their long history and a client base that reflects the parts of the New Zealand economy that make things, build things and grow things.
Although their Litigation team is sad to lose a top performer, they are incredibly proud that their team managed to produce a litigator who got awarded a scholarship to study for a Master of Laws at Duke Law School in the United States. It goes without saying that you’ll have big shoes to fill, but the team’s inclusive, supportive and friendly culture will hopefully make you feel right at home.
The role will see you working across a wide range of litigation matters including commercial, civil, sport and regulatory and will see you appearing in the High Court, District Court, Employment Relations Authority and tribunals. You’ll also be regularly involved in mediations and direct negotiations. From time-to-time, you might also get your hands on other more specialist areas of law, such as healthcare, criminal defence and maritime law.
To be considered for the role you’ll at least have one year’s litigation experience that is backed up with a strong academic transcript. The team will also welcome applications from Judges Clerks. Personal and/or professional links to the Bay of Plenty region will be looked upon favourably.
