Make-A-Wish Ireland is recruiting a Fundraising & Marketing Officer who will have responsibility for managing key fundraising.

Make-A-Wish Ireland is recruiting a Fundraising & Marketing Officer who will have responsibility both for managing key fundraising projects for the charity and creating and delivering best in class and forward-thinking marketing campaigns. The individual will be working with the team on new initiatives such as influencers, gaming and digital marketing along with shared goals within the fundraising team.

Wish achieve its mission to grant wishes to children with life-threating illnesses across Ireland. Our vision is to grant a wish to every eligible child in Ireland as part of their treatment.

Salary dependant on previous experience. Full clean driving licence essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and manage existing key projects including challenges, schools programme and new owned events. Ensure these activities are well planned and executed and reach their targets in terms of income generation, donor experience and retention.
  • To devise and implement marketing strategies for key campaigns including our Christmas appeal, Wish Week and initiatives to mark the 30th anniversary of Make-A-Wish Ireland in 2022.
  • Liaise with the fundraising team to develop effective marketing and PR strategies to support their fundraising campaigns.
  • Liaise with external PR agency
  • Work with designers and printers to deliver marketing materials.
  • Create compelling written content in line with brand guidelines. Oversee the use of Make-A-Wish brand and sign off on all marketing output.
  • Implement global Make-A-Wish initiatives working closely with international marketing team members.
  • To establish and grow new relationships through networking and to develop a pipeline of activity
  • Work with the fundraising team to develop and manage existing key income streams such as streaming, gaming and corporate engagement to ensure a high return on all fundraising areas.
  • To contribute to and deliver against annual budgets, targets and plans.
  • To attend local, regional and national fundraising activities and events.
  • General administration e.g. ensuring Salesforce database is kept updated
Essential Experience/Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in fundraising/sales/business development/event management/ marketing (experience within the charity sector is an advantage)
  • Demonstrable experience in working to and achieving target
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal, written and face to face and presentation
  • The ability to ask, negotiate and influence
  • Computer literate, Experience working with a database (Salesforce experience an advantage)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Comfortable working under pressure and to deadlines
  • The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • A full driving licence and access to a car as this position requires some travel. Flexibility to travel and willingness to work occasional weekends/evenings as required.
