This client is a large government agency that boast a large leased property portfolio. 

The Property leasing Manager will be allocated a portfolio of assets to manage. They will also develop a strong network within the property industry. The successful candidate will have a high level of expertise and competence in negotiation, commercial awareness, and current knowledge of market dynamics.

You will be responsible for:

  • Implementing outcomes from portfolio strategies, facilities management asset plans and governance processes across the portfolio to best practice standards.
  • Secure new sites, analysing options, securing authorisations, negotiating with landlords or landlord’s representatives.
  • Support Investment case development for capital projects.
  • Ensure that all policy and operational requirements for property transactions such as rent reviews, renewals, expiries/disposals and acquisitions are adhered to and met.
  • Management of relationships between landlord, tenants and developers.
  • Ensure all leased premises are managed in accordance with their respective lease agreements, the associated legal obligations and industry best practice and with the correct internal approvals, including procurement.
  • Collate and report on all relevant issues relating to the property portfolio, including critical date reporting, metrics and exceptions, seismic and asbestos status.
  • Advise and support as required regarding on-site management of lease contractual obligations and requirements.
  • Once reviews/renewals negotiations are concluded work with affected parties to finalise requirements.
  • Consult on proposals widely, including with relevant organisations and representatives and consider and incorporate feedback objectively.
The successful candidate will have;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience (5+ years) of managing a large property portfolio within a corporate or government environment.
  • A proven track record in negotiating agreements to lease (including acquisitions), leases, rent reviews and other related property transactions.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to the management of commercial property.
  • Understanding of the administration and management of relevant legislation relating to lease contracts.
  • Knowledge and/or an appreciation of the principles of energy, sustainability management and asset management planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of lease agreements and understanding of project management principles.
  • Competent computer skills with a proven ability using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
