About the role:
We have an exciting vacancy for a Diploma Qualified Childcare 2IC/ Assistant Manager to join our Wadeye Children and Family Centre. This will be a full time position working within a supportive and friendly team environment where here at One Tree we offer ongoing training and development to further develop your career with in early childhood.

About Wadeye, NT
Wadeye is an Aboriginal community, 450 kilometres outside of Darwin. This role is as much about providing learning experiences for the women in the community in their roles as parents and staff, as it is about the children.

Childcare 2IC/ Assistant Manager role:
  • In consultation with the Director to design, implement and evaluate programs for children in accordance with One Tree's requirements.
  • To provide supervision and direction in ensuring the day to day operations of the childcare service is in accordance with One Tree's policies, procedures, government regulations, legislation and the National Quality Standards and One Tree's Philosophy and Code of Ethics. 
  • To oversee and ensure the workplace operates within OH&S requirements and duty of care of children and their families is strictly maintained.
  • To act as the Director of the service in the absence of the Director. 
  • To lead by example ensuring the work environment operates in accordance with One Tree's Spirit [Vision] - Purpose and Values, Philosophy and Code of Ethics.
  • To actively create partnerships with families, staff and the community.
  • To provide information, referral and support to parents of children attending One Tree's services. 
Selection Criteria: Childcare 2IC/ Assistant Manager 
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education/ Bachelor of Early Education
  • Previous experience working in a similar capacity
  • Solid understanding of Early Years Learning Framework
  • Valid Working with Children Card for WA (or ability to obtain)
  • Medical Certificate (or ability to obtain)
