One Tree Defence Childcare Unit delivers the Defence Childcare Program on behalf of the Department of Defence. The Defence Childcare Program is designed to provide childcare to Defence personnel families and local communities.

2IC/Contact Coordinator role:
  • To provide support, supervision and direction to reporting staff ensuring the day to day operations of the service is in accordance with One Tree's policies, procedures, government regulations, legislation and National Quality Standards.
  • In consultation with the Director to design, implement and evaluate out of school hours care programs for children in accordance with One Tree's requirements.
  • To lead by example and ensure the work environment operates in accordance with One Tree's Spirit [Vision] - Purpose and Values, Philosophy and Code of Ethics.
  • To actively create partnerships with families, reporting staff and the community.
  • To oversee and ensure the workplace operates within OH&S requirements and duty of care of children and their families is strictly maintained.
  • To work as a Room Leader as and when required.
  • To act as the Director of the service in the absence of the Director.
Selection Criteria:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (essential)
  • Previous experience as a 2IC/Room Leader (essential)
  • Bachelor in Early Childhood (highly desirable)
  • Solid understanding of Early Years Learning Framework
  • Valid Working with Children Card for WA (or ability to obtain)
