Our client is a large Australian financial institution who is currently undergoing major transformation uplift of its risk & technology infrastructure.  Significant people and capability growth are required in support of this to embed effective risk management across the Enterprise.  Great opportunities have been created in the 1st Line Assurance team to help leaders proactively manage their risk and control environment, events, issues or breaches and to ensure business stakeholders meet policy and compliance requirements.

Reporting directly to the GM of DCO Technology and Enterprise Controls, we are seeking a very experienced Technology Risk professional who has solid problem-solving skills, understands the newest technologies and governance surrounding these.  You will be required to define policies and strategies, be able to adapt and determine new solutions, and manage the operational requirement of a team.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Risk profiling: assisting the business to identify key business and technical risks and design of indicators to monitor, input into divisional risk
  • Proactively manage risk, meeting all policy and compliance requirements and adhere to process and procedures
  • Engaging with stakeholders and teams across the organisation to be an evangelist of the platform and promoting the adoption of the approach and technologies;
  • Accountability for the platform run and management risk metrics to inform business decisions and risk remediation.
Experience required:
  • Significant experience in technology and risk management
  • Leadership.  10+ years in leading technical teams in risk and governance
  • Technology Operations
  • Building and implementing control frameworks aligned to industry and regulatory expectations
  • Track record in developing capability uplift in technical risk and governance teams
  • A strong reputation and experience working with technology leaders across multiple domains;
  • Created and led highly capable technical teams, preferably through a period of change; and
  • Well-rounded stakeholder engagement and management skills focused on driving outcomes and influence with technical and business leaders
  Skills and Capabilities:
  • Strong Communication skills with ability to influence & build relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic and operational risk management techniques
  • Ability to effect change and challenge the status quo
  • Cyber security, Fraud Security, Risk audit & Cloud knowledge would be well regarded
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently
