Quality Assurance Manager - 2 Year Contract
Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of the Zespri Quality Assurance program to underpin Zespri’s Quality System and brand, including all fruit/product quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  
Provide assurance to stakeholders that fruit/product quality is measured consistently throughout the global business.
  
Responsibilities:    
  • Developing a global framework for consistent measurement of product and system quality.
  • Providing strategic direction for the Quality Assessor function across Zespri globally.
  • Maintaining effective relationships between Zespri quality functions and post-harvest management.
  • Maintaining and improving reporting and communication flow between Zespri global operations teams, the Post-Harvest Sector and the Zespri global market teams.
  • Management of the Zespri NZ Quality Assurance team.
  • Monitors audit execution against the agreed assurance plan and reports any exceptions in a timely manner to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Strengthens relationships with post-harvest management staff and develops effective mechanisms for maintaining these.
  • Ensures the Quality Assurance team has all the relevant and up to date business information required to competently carry out their role.  
Qualifications and Experience:    
  • Technical expertise with post-graduate qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical ability to be able to quickly assimilate a constant flow of complex information and understand the broader strategic/commercial implications.
  • Sound understanding of and passion for Quality Systems in general, preferably within the fresh produce industry.
  • Sound understanding of export compliance requirements and private standards for fresh produce.
  • A good understanding of Information Systems and how they apply in the quality arena.
  • Mature judgement and decision-making capability
  • Proven Strategic leadership experience
