Quality Assurance Team Lead – 3 Year Contract
This position provides leadership and management of the day-to-day operations of one of two Quality Assessor teams within the Zespri Global Quality and Technical team.  
  • Coordination of the Quality Assessor team to ensure audit plans (product quality and cool store assessment included) are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with the Zespri Fruit Quality Manager, Quality Assurance Analyst and Technical managers to resolve product quality issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Internal Audit and Continuous Improvement team to ensure Quality Assessors are proficient and opportunities for improvement in the audit space are identified and enacted.
  • Act as a contact point for kiwifruit industry quality teams and communicate issues effectively to Zespri Global Quality and Technical and other Supply Chain teams.
  • Ensure all Quality Assessors always work with a primary focus on Zespri and industry Health and Safety requirements
  • Manage the completion of corrective actions by the Zespri QA team, including ensuring that the Global Product Incident Management process is followed by the QA team when required.
  • Manage the performance of the QA team including annual reviews; identifying performance issues and addressing as required; and annual KPI and development plans.  
Qualifications and Experience:    
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of audit and compliance programs
  • Line or Team Management experience is advantageous.
  • Leadership/supervisor training is advantageous
  • Sound knowledge of Quality Systems and compliance standards for example Global GAP and GFSI/BRC
  • Sound understanding of product (preferably fruit/fresh produce/food) handling and storage practices.
  • Good understanding of export regulatory requirements including MPI Phytosanitary certification requirements.
