This Cyber Security business is growing their technical projects team due to a number of new engagements that are long term.

The primary objective of the Network Security Engineer is to support the delivery team with customer projects including some design and mainly implementations as well as both onsite and remote customer support. You will need to have strong technical skills with relevant experience using the cyber security vendor products listed below.

Building strong customer relationships will be key to the success of this role and will require a high level of customer focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

The role will also encompass assistance with supporting the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support our core organisational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising all networked hardware and software. It also includes involvement in design and implementation of new products and services.
  
Main Responsibilities:
  • Work on projects as assigned of varying sizes, scales and complexity levels
  • Define technical project requirements for allocated projects
  • Delivery of technical implementation across a range of Network Security projects
  • Manage project deliverables and issues
  • Assist in developing the technical elements and effort associated to input into customer proposals as required, inclusive of understanding customer requirements.
  • Liaise between sales, engineering, product vendors and other support partners on network and security related items
Education and Qualifications:
  
Degree qualification in relevant field or equivalent industry experience is highly desirable, however things like CCNA or TAFE Networking Diploma are well regarded.
  
Certifications or extensive experience  with at least two of the following vendors:  
Fortinet / Cisco / Checkpoint / Juniper / Palo Alto
  
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience with project implementation experience
  • Extensive experience with either Fortinet, Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper hardware.
  • Strong Networking Technologies concepts
  • Switching & Routing, Firewall, DMZ, Network Management Applications, Remote Access
  • Internet Technologies concepts
  • Proficient in IPsec/VPN
  • Proficient in IP/MPLS (Routing & Switching)
  • Solid Firewall Experience – provisioning, migrating & supporting (preferably Fortinet, however Cisco / Checkpoint / Palo are all acceptable)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general security best practices
  • Preferably has work experience in a Security company or MSSP
  • Ideally has worked on large-scale network migration projects
