Six month fixed term contract for an experienced assessor with automotive or mechanical industry experience

  • Wellington based preferred but other locations considered
  • Some automotive experience essential
  • High performing Training organisation
This is a six month fixed term role with a training organisation that provides skill and training solutions for industry and promotes career pathways for people from the automotive sector.

As the Industry Standards Assessor your primary responsibility will be;
  • Conducting desk-based assessment of learners working towards qualifications through programmes that contain integrated practical and eLearning assessment packages.
  • Conducting assessments of learners working towards qualifications, ensuring that assessments comply with regulatory requirements and are carried out according to best practice principles. 
  • Undertaking Recognition of Prior Learning assessments for learners; provide advice on assessment materials and assessment strategies to support effective achievement of programme outcomes;
  • Providing advice and guidance to Industry Training Advisors to ensure assessment portfolios are completed prior to their submission for assessment.
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Industry experience in the automotive sector
  • Knowledge of the NZQA Framework, specially related to industry training
  • Previous experience in the educational sector conducting assessments
  • Exposure to quality control systems
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building skills
  • Advanced computer skills essential - Windows environment.
