Diverse Senior HR generalist position within the mining industry, based in Geraldton. Stand alone role, part of the leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global leader in Mining and Processing in a senior generalist HR position.  The position is being offered on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave and will be based in Geraldton, with some travel between sites in the Mid West.

Reporting to the General Manager, The HR Manager is responsible for designing and implementing strategic change initiatives, delivering key projects while still being very hands on and managing day to day operational HR issues.

Key Responsibilities will include;
  • Providing advice and coaching senior leaders on employee relations matters
  • EBA interpretation and providing guidance on internal HR policies and procedures
  • End to end recruitment activities, including advertising, short listing, interviewing and conducting all pre employment checks
  • Managing investigations, terminations and redundancies as required
  • Analysing HR information and preparing reports for leadership team
To be considered for the position, you must have;
  • 5+ years experience in a generalist HR position within heavy industry
  • Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act and workers compensation legislation
  • Extensive experience in employee relations
  • The ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage all HR administration
