We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Procurement professional to join our clients growing Australasian procurement team.

  • $100,000 - $110,000 per annum
Our clients procurement function is on an exciting journey of change and development. As a result, they are looking to invest in a talented procurement professional with a breadth of knowledge across multiple categories and the ability to build, maintain and develop internal and external relationships. They offer a unique opportunity for someone to work cross functionally at all levels, and become involved in complex negotiations whilst being challenged daily. Although there is an expectation of cost savings, this person will focus heavily on supplier relationship management and internal stakeholder engagement.

The Procurement Category Manager will primarily be responsible for managing key suppliers for the NZ business. You will identify and lead the delivery of sourcing initiatives to improve the supplier base and procured spend. You will lead local relationships as a key part of their global procurement approach, and play a key part in helping to shape and drive the business agenda, identifying impactful opportunities to deliver value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the businesses sourcing plan whilst providing strategic procurement leadership
  • Ensure alignment of the procurement function with New Zealand based business objectives
  • Support the development of procurement related processes and plans, and ensuring that value delivery targets are set, tracked and achieved.
  • Manage and maintain the key business relationships internally and externally with long standing suppliers
  • Support reporting and assurance of Procurement value delivery and act as the point of contact for procurement systems, processes and operational handover including issues resolution 
  
Skills and Experience
  • Category Management experience ideally across multiple indirect categories
  • Proactive, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment
  • Knowledge of, and exposure to contract negotiations and engagement with suppliers
  • You will be a great relationship manager with adaptability and resilience who has an eye for continuous improvement and comfortable with change
  • Strong oral and written communications abilities
  • Solid analytical and technical skills
