Our client is currently commencing a growth and optimisation strategy which is very exciting. The role is situated within the wider Supply Chain function and is a pivotal part of the optimisation strategy. Not for the faint hearted, this role requires a strong commercial bent, while also having the ability to function within a high performance team and leverage strategic relationships.                          

  • Engage in the business’ procurement activities, identifying and commercialising opportunities, driving efficiencies and outputs.
  • Provide input to Category Strategy, Business Case, Trading Terms and Procurement Plans.
  • Liaise with current and potential suppliers to negotiate contracts, including the leadership of tender processes, harmonisation and optimisation of new and existing trading terms.
  • Optimisation of key relationships, commercial and revenue opportunities
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders

Key skills required:
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Category Management and/or senior Procurement position
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in negotiating high-level Trade Terms and Contracts
  • Proven ability to manage and positively engage a diverse range of senior stakeholders  
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate complex commercial and contractual concepts, models and outcomes
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to influence others and negotiate commercial outcomes
  • Capable of building good working relationships with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to think outside the square
