An exciting career opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work as part of an Aged Care Team, to provide clinical care at an RN level to the residents in leading residential aged car facility in a beautiful area of Hobart.

The successful applicant will be a highly valued member of the team and have a passion for Aged Care Nursing and demonstrated understanding of the multifaceted practice of Aged Care.

The Role
  • Participate and demonstrate leadership in the effective day to day support of Homemakers they apply to all residents.
  • Embrace family and friends of residents welcoming them to the home and provide updates on their loved ones.
  • Wound assessment and management.
  • Support the team with follow up when there are concerns about a resident by liaising doctors and other allied health specialists as required.
  • Organise appointments and liaise with clinical team to meet a resident’s clinical needs.
  • To continually strive to improve your own personal development in a manner that will enable you to continue to be a key staff member of our Clinical Team.
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Current and valid Australian National Police Check
  • Preferably 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Aged care nursing, experience with ACFI and Aged Care accreditation process is a bonus!
  • A desire to consolidate and grow your nursing skills, experience and professional development
  • Vaccination record up to date
  • Strong understanding of best practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to sector specific software
  • A genuine passion and empathy for Aged Care nursing
  • Experience in caring for residents with Dementia.
  • Experience working in an aged care environment essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
