The Role

An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON)/DON to work alongside a competent, experienced Director of Nursing, with the assured support to step up into the DON role, in an exclusive, HIGH END Aged Care facility in Sydney, NSW.

You would support the Director of Nursing (DON) in all aspects of managing the facility such as resident care. staff management, accreditation, ACFI funding and continuous quality improvement.

This Clinical Management role involves using your knowledge and experience to help oversee and exceed the operational excellence, Clinical Governance and Quality Standards of care offered in line with the expectations of the Organisation, Residents and the Regulatory Authority.

With your high standards and excellence of care, you will excel in this management position and your warm and connected relationships will see you thrive in this organisation.
You lead by example and understand the intricacies of working in a residential aged care environment from both a staff and management perspective which enables you the ability to make informed decisions.

Key Requirements:
  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Div 1 Nurse.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as DDON in Aged Care 
  • Thorough understanding of the Australian Aged Care assessment, meeting Accreditation standards, ACFI Validations (Appeal process) and practical implementation.
  • Experience with Internal/External complaints management
  • Experience with Clinical Governance
  • Proficiency in a wide range of IT applications used in Aged Care
  • Knowledge of Aged Care industry legislation and standards
  • Strong people management and leadership skills and experience managing a variety of staff of varying levels of seniority and experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Current and clear Police check
