An opportunity exists for an experienced Design Engineer or Designer to join a privately-owned civil engineering consultancy firm based in Richmond.

Our client, a privately-owned civil engineering consultancy who work with some of Australia’s largest property developers and sporting associations, are seeking an experienced Design Engineer or Designer to join their business.  With a commitment to world’s best practice and a core focus on Urban Development, Infrastructure and Sport, they have become a widely recognised firm in the provision of innovative civil engineering design and project management.
The Role
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will undertake the detailed design of intermediate to complex projects as well as managing these projects through to completion.  Utilising your previous experience from a similar role will enable you to successfully meet the requirements of this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Concept, Functional and detailed design utilising 12d model and AutoCAD software
  • Produce plans and documents for construction of land development and urban infrastructure projects
  • Prepare tender/quantity schedules and identifying & documenting the required resources
  • Collaborate with team members to identify design technical limitations and make improvements to existing designs
  • Produce accurate construction documentation including drawings, plans, quantities and specifications
  • Liaise with all external authorities as required
  • Ensure effective file and system maintenance
  • Comply with OH&S and environmental requirements at all times

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering Civil or Diploma in Engineering) are essential
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience completing local Victorian land development work is preferable
  • Prior experience using AutoCAD and 12d model is mandatory and a high proficiency in MS office is expected
  • MRWA accreditation in sewer and water design is advantageous
  • Stormwater drainage design skills are essential, as is experience in the design of roads, sewer and water reticulation
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, your time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities will be excellent, plus you thrive working in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.  You will constantly be collaborating with your peers to identify any problems that may arise and then work towards finding solutions to enable successful project completion.  You will also have a leaning mind set, whilst demonstrating a positive and committed work ethic.
