The Opportunity 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Sous Chef who is looking to make their mark on a local pub. Located in Scone in the Hunter Valley, this venue has been modernized, while still reflecting its art deco architecture.

This is a hands-on role suited to an individual who thrives on a challenge and has desire for excellence and quality in product. Managing all outlets, with a small but talented kitchen team, and producing a high-quality pub bistro food.

You will be responsible for but not limited to;
  • In conjunction with the Head Chef you will actively contribute towards developing strategies that ensure the achievement of quality standards, best practice business objectives and profit targets
  • Monitor budgets, profit and loss statements and forecasts to ensure effective cost control and profitability
  • Establish and maintain recipes, including photographic presentation, of all menu items in food outlets
  • Supervise and maintain quality control for outgoing meals and incoming produce 
  • Ensure daily monitoring and control of all food purchasing and stock control
  • Liaise with the Head Chef on menu development, guest feedback and service issues
About You 

If you are a Head Chef or Sous Chef with at least 3 years experience in a similar role and are able to successfully demonstrate the following;
  • Dynamic, energetic and agile thinking
  • Experience in a high volume environment with diverse styles
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to create a motivating environment
  • Experience in leading and developing a team
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach with a passion for food and presentation
  • Embrace and demonstrate company values
  • Trade cooking qualifications are essential
