A Kiwi SaaS startup based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, is looking for a Lead Developer for their .NET team. You’ll be a key part of the delivery, setting architecture and managing a small back end development team in a hands-on lead position.
They have a tight team well connected to delivering a great product with an intelligent use of technology, driving a global learning and training platform to corporate clients. With a strong roadmap of new features, scaling and product enhancements and great product leadership, you’ll have a well defined remit to take on and a keen team to help you deliver it.
Here’s what you will be doing:
  • Leading technical development of key backend (C#) features, including mentoring other team members involved in delivering those features.
  • Playing a key role in transitioning backend development, and helping champion a move from monolithic architecture to microservices.
  • Fostering a spirit of teamwork and unity among development staff that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity.
  • Leading staff to meet the expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
  • Working with the Product Owner, Architect and Frontend Lead Developer in planning and designing new features.
  • Hands-on involvement in application development, testing and deployment activities.

Here’s what you will bring to the table:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with at least 2 years of experience as a lead developer, technical lead, or similar role.
  • Extensive experience in the development of C# data-driven web applications with a heavy focus on use and development of REST web APIs consumed by JavaScript client code.
  • Using (and deploying applications into) cloud hosting services such as AWS or Azure.
  • .NET Core, async C# code development, WebAPI, SQL Server 2017.
  • A track record of the technical design and delivery of high performance software applications in a SaaS and cloud environment.
  • Experience communicating with stakeholders across all levels.
  • Team motivation and engagement attitude.
  • Implementing or integrating with SaaS applications.
They are a vibrant team, committed to creating great stuff, but with the realisation that the world doesn’t revolve around wearing a suit in the city. If you’ve got the technical chops and want to skip the traffic (when we’re all back on the office, one day!) with a local company that’s making huge progression in the US and Europe, then we’d love to talk to you.

With the current travel restrictions, we're only able to accept applications from people who are already in New Zealand. Once travel restrictions are lifted, you'll be operating day-to-day in the Wellington office. In the meantime, both Talent Army and our clients are well set to carry out the recruitment process and onboarding remotely.
