A new brand in the green energy market is kicking off and building a Python engineering team. If you want to work with an out-the-box startup, driven by an industry-leading leadership team who have a deep track record with successful new products and supported by one of the fastest-growing industry brands in Europe, then this is the one for you to kick off 2021!

A leading green energy technology provider in the UK is entering the New Zealand market and building out their software localisation, user and customer interfaces. They are looking for multiple Intermediate-Senior Python Developers to create 2 squads at Senior and Mid-Senior level. Reporting to the NZ tech Lead, these teams will help shape the development of NZ market-specific functionality into their global energy platform. 

They have difficult design challenges and technical problems to solve, and need the right tech in place to handle the process smoothly as well as feeding the data into a machine learning pipeline. Python is the technology of choice, with Django-REST-framework, and they use AWS heavily.

Ideally, you’ll be in Wellington, but remote working (within New Zealand) options are available as well.

We’re looking for someone who is interested in tech and problem solving, and has some of the following experience/attributes:
  • Senior or Senior-Intermediate commercial experience in Software Development
  • Strong Python development skills
  • Django (or equivalent), HTTP, and REST APIs
  • Domain modeling, and writing robust and fault-tolerant software
  • Experience in Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Packer, Consul, React and Redux are nice to haves
  • Experience in the energy industry would be preferred, but great engineering is the priority here!
