We are seeking an occupational manager to lead the occupational division across 4 aged care sites.

  • 12 Rostered days off per year plus 5 weeks annual leave!

Our Client is a leading aged care provider that are driven by the belief that they must look after each other as they age. They are motivated by care not returns and strive to support individuals to enjoy a fulfilling life on their own terms and are now looking for an Occupational Manager to lead the Occupational team across 4 sites.
  
This role will involve;
  • Support and lead the Occupational Therapy Department on a daily basis to ensure smooth running of the Department, including recruitment and budget management
  • Promote best practice through supervising, coaching and mentoring Occupational Therapy staff
  • Create a holistic approach to the development and maintenance of ‘best practice’ programs specifically designated for residents within the Organisation and Occupational Therapy services
  • Oversee the implementation of Occupational Therapy strategies and quality improvement initiatives, including support from OT staff to update the PCI’s within the various sections of the Organisation
  • Support OT staff development of initiatives including creating a supportive environment for research development, in collaboration with the Research Co-ordinator
  • The Occupational Therapy Manager will assist with clinical cover as appropriate when OT staff are on leave and when there are complex cases that require the support of the OT Manager
  • Maintain a small caseload 25%
The requirements for this role include;
  • AHPRA Registered Occupational Therapist
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Occupational therapist
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in providing supervision
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including providing clinical and administrative support to a team
  • Demonstrated prior knowledge and experience in working in a health or aged care setting
  • Advanced clinical reasoning skills and knowledge to support Occupational Therapy (OT) role development, clinical innovation and the provision of evidence-based OT services
  • Knowledge in supporting residents with dementia or cognitive decline
  • Car and Licence

Additional Information 
  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children and undertaking a National police checks.
