Job Description: Senior SAP Program Manager / SDM
 
Summary of key requirements
 
This position is with an established Federal Government client and will manage the work and resources across the core functions needed to deliver BAU (Business As Usual) operations as well as a number of high profile projects. You will act as the Client Advocate and have direct client responsibility for the end-to-end service delivery. You will be a key point of representation for the client and will need to fully understand their profile and have a strong focus on adding value. High level communication skills whilst maintaining a tight delivery schedule in consultation with key stakeholders.
 
This is a high-profile position requiring management of a significant number of highly skilled SAP resources including a number of Project Managers.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Build long-term collaborative relationships with the client and act as trusted advisor on operational matters.
  • Establish appropriate local governance and feedback processes to ensure full transparency around client needs and issues.
  • Lead client service reviews and Due Diligence visits with respect to operational and project performance.
  • Create and maintain all SAP technical activities within the operational and broader master project plans.
  • Utilise Client and Process knowledge to champion innovation and challenge inefficient processes.
  • Manage budgets and client reporting regimes.
  • Implementation of appropriate metrics that monitor performance against target and holds the client team accountable for achieving them
  • Manage all technical SAP solution deliverables in collaboration with project members. Ensure ABAP coding standards are aligned to customer expectations.
  • Manage 3rd party dependencies related to SAP environment. Develop risk technical risk management plan.
  • Manage technical considerations regarding change and service requests.
  • Plan and manage SAP systems maintenance schedule in collaboration with the Operations SAP change and release manager.
  • Manage all aspects of the troubleshooting and root cause analysis for escalation.
Team management:
  • Manage day to day operations of the technical project and operations team.
  • Manage distribution of key activities to the team.
  • Able to coach and motivate the team.
  • Ensure team is aligned on expected deliverables and due dates.
  • Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Responsible for the coaching, training, development and performance reviews of the staff.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience working in a similar leadership role within a SAP operational and support environment.
  • Proven ability to implement, improve and manage Service Delivery functions and lead continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of functional and technical aspects of SAP Finance.
  • Understanding of SAP best practice.
  • Able to assess and manage technical risks and issues.
  • Should be open to learn new products and take additional responsibilities.
  • Able to report both verbally and in writing to executive level.
