The Company
Our client is a pioneer in the fitness education industry and has been growing at a rapid rate over the past decade. The company is led by an inspiring and highly strategic innovator who has progressed the business into the global arena. They  are the fastest growing online fitness education company in the world, and are currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated fitness professional for the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO).
About the role:
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for the execution of the strategic direction and overall growth of the company as established by the CEO. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible and accountable for ensuring the delivery, growth and profitability of the company and contractual requirements set out with both internal and external stakeholders, partners and governing bodies (ASQA).

The Chief Operations Officer is required to optimise business performance and functionality across all departments in conjunction with their Head Of Departments (HODs), ensuring that the company fulfils its commercial objectives daily but also long term in line with its mission and business plan.
Finally, in conjunction with the CEO, the COO will be expected to put forward new commercial opportunities that the business can take on and execute to maximise its ability to meet its financial targets.

Specific Duties:
The COO is required to keep the CEO abreast of all important matters relating to the business including and not limited to the following:
  • Any and all business dashboard reports required, including and not limited to the following:
    • Establishing then reporting the financial data as required in relation to company budget and financial goals
    • Reporting the product sales unit data as required in relation to company budget and financial goals
  • Overall staff performance and compliance from all departments
  • Addressing any management matters both positive and negative
  • Continuously evolving and implementing the business plan to maximise overall business profitability by studying technological and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions and recommending objectives
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities
  • Generate business, cost and employee reports for review in collaboration when required
  • Manage data to inform business decisions
  • Manage service delivery via our online learning and SaaS platforms
The ideal candidate is someone from the education sector, a larger RTO perhaps, who has been involved in successfully digitising the online learning experience with them. Also someone from B2C with e-commerce background who has successfully navigated the digital space on large scale in a B2C environment.
Either way, the ideal candidate will be:
  • A strong leader, communicator, motivator and people manager/mentor
  • Solutions driven and a , lateral thinker who can problem-solve issues both in business and with people

Also, the ideal candidate will have:
  • A proven track record of leading and helping to facilitate commercial growth through an increase in revenue, combined with decreased outgoings showing optimisation of EBITA etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving and quick-thinking skills and the ability to innovate to meet changing consumer needs
