The opportunity
At the heart of Tatua’s business is the ability to develop, market and sell specialised food ingredients. This requires astute Business Development Managers who build strong working partnerships with overseas food manufacturers through a deep understanding of their businesses, providing customised technical, commercial and logistical solutions.

The person appointed will join two other Business Development Managers connecting with global customers.  Arising from internal promotion the new BDM will focus on customers in the USA and Europe.

The Business Development Manager will need:
  • a science or food science or process engineering tertiary qualification
  • a good technical knowledge of food products gained from at least 5 years post graduate experience in a commercial food business. They will be able to quickly build on this knowledge after taking up the role
  • an awareness of manufacturing and logistics constraints and how to manage these to achieve agreed objectives
  • attention to detail that means high quality standards are set and achieved for product delivery to customers
  • the commercial skills required to negotiate terms of business
  • personal qualities such as strong inter-personal skills, being a clear communicator and demonstrating energy, initiative, innovation and collaboration.
  • A dairy industry background would be an advantage but is not essential
Extensive overseas travel is involved with this role.
Based at Tatuanui near Morrinsville, Tatua is within easy commuting distance of several Waikato rural towns such as Cambridge or Matamata, and Hamilton City or even Tauranga.
