We are currently looking for a suitably qualified Senior Cost Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer with quantity surveying experience to work within our Melbourne Infrastructure team working on some of Victoria’s major infrastructure and construction projects.
  
Within the Infrastructure team you will undertake various and multiple work assignments, exercising sound financial acumen, delivering within timeframes and managing resources to provide exemplary professional services to our Clients.
  
This position encompasses various tasks including:
  • ­ Masterplan and Feasibility Budgets
  • ­ Cost Planning / Estimating for planning and delivery phases
  • ­ Cost Checking of Developing Design
  • ­ Value Engineering
  • ­ Bills of Quantities
  • ­ Tender Evaluations and analysis
  • ­ Contract negotiations
  • ­ Cash flow projections
  • ­ Procurement
  • ­ Cost Reporting
  • ­ Evaluation of Variations
  • ­ Valuations
  • ­ Final Account Reporting
  • ­ Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
  • ­ Market research and analysis
As a project leader you will be responsible for:
  • Providing commercially pragmatic and technically accurate cost management advice, quantity surveying and cost planning services to our Clients
  • Deputise for a Director or Associate as directed
  • Developing and maintaining existing Client relationships
  • Mentoring and training of less experienced staff
  • Maintain professional expertise and continue professional development
  
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 10+ years’ experience
  • Tertiary qualification(s) in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction
  • Extensive civil engineering experience in rail, tunnelling and roads sectors with an emphasis on cost estimating and cost planning
  • Risk management experience in Monte Carlo analysis
  • Excellent communications skills
  • RICS / AIQS membership (or equivalent)
  • Competency in Cost X, Expert Estimator, @Risk and MSProject software
