Senior Technical Support Engineer


Client and the Role:

Global Mining company requires a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join their Brisbane Branch.  Operating across 10 locations throughout Australia and New Zealand they require a degree qualified mechanical or hydraulic engineer. Specific experience in Product Development and Product Enhancement of rotational mineral processing and mining equipment is required. 

They have R&D and New Product Development Divisions within the business and this position would suit an Engineer at a Senior level with 10 years’ experience, both with hands-on maintenance and design experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid power engineering.  An understanding of Engineering piping, hose and spool design, detailed drafting, contract negotiation, and management, project management, field service experience as well as new build and production/manufacturing, procurement, QA and inventory experience is all a must.         


Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical support across manufacturing, production, and technical support teams
  • Effective Project Management with MS Project and SAP
  • Provide mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and technical support for Slurry Pumps and large hoses
  • Hydrotesting of pumps, hoses, and pipelines
  • Produce Gravity Feed, Pressure and Fluid Power studies
  • Produce product designs, new product, and continuous improvement design as per (Gravity Feed, Pressure and Fluid Power) results  
  • R&D and product development of pump, hose and pipe fittings  
  • Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control of the product
  • Ensuring all equipment is designed to relevant Australian standards, perform estimates, BOM’s and more
  • Stress and FEA Analysis
  • Preparation of technical manuals so production and manufacturing work can be carried out effectively
  • Maintaining project documentation
  • Attend mine sites and produce feasibility studies
  • Sales support and assistance with bid generation, cost control and financial reporting  
  
You:
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Senior Engineer   
  • Chartered or RPEQ status would be an advantage
  • Excellent understanding of material engineering (composites, rubber, steel) essential
  • Deep knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical design and engineering
  • Well versed in FEA and simulation and analysis
  • Experience design to global standards – ISO / AS codes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  
 Salary:

Our client offers competitive remuneration packages, $150,000 packages negotiable depending on experience.
