Our client is a well-established engineering company who work closely with large-cap companies in the Mining and heavy industrial engineering sectors.  Employing 500 + across Australia, they are looking to expand and hire a Production Planner.   

This position will require excellent communication skills as you will meet and liaise with clients and external stakeholders.  You will have the ability to manage your time well.  The company will offer training to allow you to professionally develop existing processes and to allow you to up-skill yourself quickly and effectively.

Job and Duties:
  • Multi-faceted role (engineering planner and document controller)
  • Planning and scheduling orders within required lead times
  • Working to update and maintain the Engineering Planning Sheet – Excel
  • Supporting both purchasing and procurement teams and activities
  • Liaise with the lead engineers and the Drafting team with regards to production plans
  • Estimating manpower, tool and other equipment resources for production plans
  • Assess production plans, planning documents to prepare relevant time spans for processing of materials, parts, and tools in order to meet contractual delivery requirements
  • Liaise with clients and work out what projects need completing before others
  • Move, prioritise design orders and production jobs
  • Generating job issues for project budget purposes
  • Establishing a DIFOT reporting system
  • Tracking reporting and processing the Sales Effort
  • Collating, filing, creating and maintaining documents in accordance with AS4024 standards

  • Heavy Engineering Production or Manufacturing experience
  • A good head for production and planning
  • Resourceful and excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, high level of emotional intelligence
  • Excellent knowledge of OH&S and Quality Systems
