Data Steward
The role of Data Steward is responsible for caring about the data and interpreting what it means and how it can be used. As a steward, you will be responsible for ensuring the data environment is documented so that various data elements can be found and used in a practical way by all stakeholders within the business.  
The role will be part of the Data Analytics chapter collaborating closely with Architects, Modelers and designers who will work across multiple analytics and reporting squads and also in the DCOE to drive conformance to the enterprise data model standards.
The role needs to work closely with the IT leadership and domain architects, solution architects and play an advising role in the governance of data such as Master Data Management, Reference Data Management, Meta Data Management, Analytics, and Big Data.
About the role
  • Be a leader in the stewardship team in the partnering, engagement and stewardship skills they need to make data stewards effective.
  • Leads the Analytic Data Governance working group, ensuring agendas, DQ dashboards, issues, and any other relevant material is gathered and or prepared and distributed in a timing manner to members.
  • Advisor for and monitors quality reporting and leads quality issue resolution and profiling where required.
  • Deliver support for the Analytic Domain (and platform) owner set common customer data standards, definitions and quality requirements across all our enterprise data warehouse and Big Data environments.
  • Ensures all ingested data is defined and cataloged (including technical and business data), and where critical has clear data lineage and a business data owner who approves its use, definition and quality requirements.
  • Co-ordinates data issues, and ensures they are prioritised, and actions attended to.
  • Collaborates across the business with data users, process owners, systems owners, architects, engineers. and data creators to help achieve the objectives of the business function they support, while also ensuring adherence to data standards when using data from the Analytic platform
  • Proactively manage risk, meeting policy and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with escalations from events, issues or breaches related to customer data
To be successful: 
  • Design and develop data strategies for multiple department business processes.
  • Defines data policy in alignment with business and QA.
  • In conjunction with business owners, assist in developing data definitions and business rules.
  • Responsible for the qualification, data analysis, data accuracy and change control of Master Data.
  • Create and/or modify data, including but not limited to all objects, views, and fields within the function.
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date master data for assigned business processes, ensure timely updates and eliminates duplicate/obsolete data.
  • Measurement, monitoring, and reporting on data quality on an ongoing basis
  • Resolving data usage issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicates and interacts with other Operational and Information Stewards to resolve issues regarding master data.
  • Offers evaluates and implements recommendations to enhance workflow and increase efficiency.
  • Good communication skills.
