About Oac

We believe children have a right to a choice when it comes to their learning, so at Only About Children (Oac) the basis of our curriculum is child led, play based learning. This is embedded into our daily practice with programs such as Active, Drama, Language, Music & Sustainability. Our programs are not ‘bolted on’ they are embedded into everything that we do.  

We are seeking an Experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our Cammeray Campus on a full time basis. 

The Role: 
  • Be a role model and ensure that you support, instruct and mentor other team members in your room on the expectations of Oac and their role within the company
  • Ensure that all new team members feel welcome and are engaged in the room, creating an environment that fosters a sense of belonging
  • Work with the classroom team to hold room meetings, set goals and meet requirements
  • Be the point of contact for communications with families about developmental outcomes and school readiness in consultation with the Campus Director
  • Will facilitate the process of family information and progress meetings
  • Actively participate in the leadership team by attending meetings, sharing ideas and being motivated towards the campus vision
  • Support the Campus Director with decisions made throughout the campus
  • Support and encourage ongoing learning and study for all team members
  • Ensure child safety and welfare at all times by actively supervising and interacting with children
  • Ensure that our children are educated and cared for to the highest standard
  • Ensure every child is able to engage with educators in meaningful, open interactions that support the acquisition of skills for life and learning
  • Interact with each child in a warm and responsive way and build trusting relationships  

How can we support you?

We actively invest in the future by providing a professional development framework for our team members which includes 3 keys elements: professional practice training, leadership training and safety and regulatory training. There is also consistent on the job mentoring and coaching and opportunities to network with other team members.

We have an approach to ensure all training we do assists our ECT’s in their NESA accreditation. We have in our teams some of the known industry leaders such as Jenny Kable, owner of Let the children play and Let the babies play, for our team to learn from.

We understand that educating young children is complex and requires ongoing qualifications and professional development. We ensure all our team members are appropriately skilled and qualified to develop and educate young minds. For this position, we are looking for:
  • A Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) or equivalent approved teaching qualifications
  • A creative and cooperative team person
  • Committed to excellence in early childhood education and care
  • Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and EYLF with proven results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
