Intrax is an end-to-end supplier of engineering, surveying, and geotechnical services to the building and land development industries. Founded in Victoria in 2003, we have grown rapidly into a large-sized engineering consultancy employing over 300 people across Australia and China. 

Our Head Office is located in Melbourne CBD with further offices in NSW and located throughout Australia and China, all serving our growing client list of leading residential builders, industrial and commercial development companies, government and urban land authorities, developers, and architects.
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer or Qualified Soil Classifier to join our QLD Housing & Land Division on a full time basis at our office in Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
  • Undertake fieldwork activities utilising a drill rig and fieldwork supervision
  • Laboratory testing
  • Travel and work in the field and in remote locations.  Interstate travel may be required as part of your employment
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports including but not limited to site classification (AS2870-2011), slope stability and effluent disposal reports/plans
  • Ensure that all reports are prepared and checked on a daily basis and any additional research is carried out within the relevant deadlines for the particular job
  • Review wind ratings in accordance with AS4055-2012
  • Review sites for bushfire attack level (BAL) rating in accordance with AS3959-2009
  • Respond to client enquiries regarding geotechnical projects
  • Provide training to geotechnical staff
  • Ensure OHS procedures are adhered to under all circumstances.
 You will have: 
  • On-site experience with regards to soil identification
  • Laboratory testing and drill rig operating experience
  • A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, or a minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (particularly Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • An ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
  • Physically fit enough to be able to perform field duties
  • Current valid driver’s license.
