The company:
My client is a NZ owned and operated textile company, offering industrial scale, nano-fibre production services along with co-development and commercialisation of nano-fibre products. They are world leaders in the industry and there is no doubt that their products have the potential to solve global problems with nano-sized solutions.
Evolution and continuous innovation are the foundation of my client’s business DNA and thinking about technological innovations is a culture that has been present since the beginning.

My client has a strict “no egg policy” in the employment of all roles; so, the ideal candidate must not be an egg and must be able to get on with a diverse range of people.

The role:
As the Financial Controller there will be two staff reporting to you with yourself reporting to the CEO. You are expected to have functional relationships with the Executive, Sales, Operations and Technical teams.
Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Financial processing, reporting, and planning
  • ERP selection and implementation
  • Financial management
  • Provide financial leadership
  • Short, medium, and long-term financial forecasting
The position holder must have a commitment to maintaining an efficient and friendly experience for all external contacts and a cooperative working environment with other staff within the business.

What you need:
The ideal candidate must be CA/CPA qualified. You will have a self-motivated attitude, a meticulous eye for detail, strong analytical skills and be highly numerate and commercially savvy.

If you are not a blue-sky thinker, results orientated, highly organised, and highly flexible with strong problem-solving skills, then I am sorry this role is not for you.
Key requirements are:
  • Experience in developing procedures and controls for financial systems
  • Minimum of 5 years in a medium to large manufacturing business at a senior level
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining corporate financial discipline, policies, and rules of engagement
  • Ability to create a financial department to the level to provide financial guidance and recommend, as part of the senior management team
  • Export experience
