The property development team work with private property developers, listed developers and institutional clients.

About you
You want to work as part of a team who has a high performance culture, developing your mentoring skills and taking on greater responsibility for your matters. You have the ability to build rapport quickly are client service driven, have strong attention to detail, have the ability to juggle a varied and fast paced workload, and a genuine interest in working with like-minded professionals as part of a team. You will demonstrate a drive to succeed in conjunction with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform in a dynamic environment. You will have 3+ years post admission experience in managing property development transactions, from concept to completion. This includes acquisition of development sites, managing and assisting clients with all legal aspects of the development process and experience in conveyancing of large apartment and vacant land subdivisions, as well as industrial and office developments.

The role
Working in the dynamic development team, this role will have direct access to Partners and senior lawyers, as well as the ability to bounce ideas off your like-minded colleagues. The role will see the successful candidate responsible for aspects of the property development process.

The type of work or knowledge required includes:
  • Liaising directly with clients;
  • Managing your own files with the appropriate supervision from Partners;
  • Negotiating contracts of sale for development acquisitions and disposals;
  • Drafting and negotiating joint venture agreements, development agreements and other types of development related transaction documents;
  • Preparing letters of advice to clients on specific property development / conveyancing issues;
  • Knowledge of owners corporations;
  • Knowledge of GAIC;
  • Drafting bespoke "off the plan" contracts of sale and preparing complex vendor's statements;
  • Preparing settlements; and
  • Completing monthly billing.
