About you
Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years post admission experience, predominantly in insolvency and restructuring as well as in banking recoveries. You have:
  • highly developed organisational skills necessary to work within a fast-paced recoveries practice;
  • excellent technical skills;
  • enthusiasm and drive for delivering outstanding outcomes to clients;
  • a high degree of initiative;
  • sound legal and commercial judgement.
Your role
The successful candidate will be part of a team which acts for liquidators, administrators and receivers in insolvency matters, as well as lenders in conducting high volume debt recoveries and the enforcement of securities including real property mortgages and guarantees.

You will be reporting to both an insolvency partner and a banking and finance recoveries partner. The role will involve drafting correspondence and written advices, drafting bank notices and court pleadings, undertaking discovery, attending mediations, preparing court applications and appearing at interlocutory hearings. 

The role requires an extensive knowledge of:
  • insolvency and restructuring law;
  • the regulations impacting banks and financial institutions including the Personal Property Securities Act, National Consumer Credit Protection Act, National Credit Code, the Australian Consumer Law and the Banking Code of Practice;
  • complex debt/security restructures;
  • civil procedure rules and court processes such as discovery, mediations and interlocutory applications.
