Lawyer required to work within leading bank, liaising with senior stakeholders on regulatory reform projects and post Royal Commission work.

Work closely with Business and senior stakeholders to implement the Banking and Executive Accountability Regime (BEAR) and manage regulatory compliance within this regime. This will include maintaining Accountability Statements and Compliance Plans, validating ongoing compliance, performing risk assessments and gap analysis and communicating changes to the Leadership Team.

- A strong legal and/ or governance background and understanding of the points in the Royal Commission and the Banking and Executive Accountability Regime and know how to apply them would be useful;- You will have the ability to use your judgement, make commercial decisions and be able to apply and assess detailed regulation using a holistic approach; - Experience of being a key contact point for legal or compliance advice and have the ability to identify risks in a variety of commercial situations coupled with previous experience of interpreting legislation, providing advice to stakeholders and implementing frameworks and policies to meet the legislative requirements


The ideal candidate will have a legal, regulatory and/or corporate governance background. Experience working on the Royal Commission would be beneficial but is not essential. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, the ability to influence and engage with a broader team is essential.
