About the role
In this role, you will be an experienced Web Developer who is experienced with Wordpress/ JavaScript/ PHP stack and has a strong ability to provide L1/L2 Technical Support to end users.

You will be the first point of contact for a new online education platform, contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance to ensure it runs at its best as well as sharing insights to ensure the platform is received well by the end users. The role will suit someone who enjoys being the go-to person or digital platform expert, is able to communicate technical ideas to a diverse range of audiences and is able to learn new concepts quickly.


About the client
This global education client is growing rapidly and diversifying their product range. The business is based on the North shore and provides free, on site parking as well as being on the doorstep of major bus lines. The team consists of around 15 people in IT. The environment is very welcoming and supportive. Large ego’s will not be a good fit for this team.

Essential Skills
  • Wordpress & PHP knowledge & experience (Plugins & Themes)
  • Good experience with the frontend (JavaScript ES6, HTML, CSS, Jquery, Bootstrap)
  • Ability to work with Linux & MySQL/Maria DB
  • Good understanding of the release management process
  • Previous experience with L1/L2 Technical Support
  • Good understanding of networks, hardware, and cloud technologies
    • Windows & Mac OS X Operating systems
    • Common networking protocols (HTTP, SSL, SMTP, DNS, SSH, FTP)
    • Troubleshooting PC/Apple/Mobile hardware (iOS, Android, Chrome OS)
    • AWS (EC2/ S3 CloudFront)
  • Confident verbal & written communicator of technical information to a range of end
  • Previous experience liaising with multiple departments to ensure a digital platform performs at its best
A typical day
You will be working on the following:
  • Liaise with Sales/Marketing, IT Deparments & end users
  • Development of new and existing features on Wushka platform
  • Bug fixing and day to day maintenance
  • Functional design for feature improvements and modifications
  • Tier 1 support for customers
  • Providing detailed bug reports
  • Speaking with education clients to resolve data security and privacy issues
  • Contributing to the pre & post-sales support to new & existing customers
  • Share your insights with education customers etc. to help marketing create product collateral
