The Angaston Medical Centre is a modern medical practice which provides exceptional ‘whole person care’ to the community, in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Consulting across two sites within the Angaston area, the Angaston Medical Centre is an accredited practice that consists of experienced, thorough, and dedicated GP’s, nurses, and medical staff, who offer an array of services.

The Angaston Medical Centre is seeking a highly devoted and committed General Manager to join their team, who will be able to create a shared vision for the practice, whilst helping the centre grow and develop further, well into the future.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be primarily responsible for initiating the direction of the Angaston Medical Centre, to ensure that high quality and delivery of services are accomplished, whilst being in line with its strategic plan. This critical and influential role is also responsible for guiding the medical centre’s culture, whilst promoting a collaborative and united approach, in order to achieve optimal and ideal health outcomes for the local community. In addition, the General Manager will ensure that the medical centre’s policies and procedures are current, in order to appropriately comply with the relevant standards and regulations.
Other key responsibilities for this role, include, but not limited to:
  • Working in conjunction with the Board of Directors to create a shared vision for the practice;
  • Leading strategic planning development activities;
  • Developing and maintaining strong internal relationships amongst the team;
  • Maintaining and enhancing the reputation of the practice;
  • Developing and reporting on Key Performance Indicators.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Overall, the successful candidate will be a proven leader, who has the ability to provide clear and concise direction, within a complex environment, whilst also being highly committed to the principles of quality health care service provision. The General Manager will display a demonstrated ability to work in partnership with the Board of Directors, in order to create a shared vision for the practice and helping with the future development and success of the medical centre. Possessing proven experience within a management role, you will also have high-level analytical and strategic skills, which allow you to successfully implement and drive strategic initiatives.
Furthermore, it would be desirable, however not essential that the successful candidate will be tertiary qualified with either a business, commerce, or a related field, together with an in-depth understanding of the health industry, including clinical compliance and regulatory requirements.
