Our client is a fast growing well funded Australian Fintech business that is expanding and looking to hire an experienced Product Owner in the Central London office. 
 
The position will be to focus into Retail Banking across Australia and work closely with the Australian office & London office. 
 
Responsibilities:
- Work with product design team to understand and communicate product requirements to the delivery team.
- Communicate product delivery feasibility and limitations to product design team.
- Backlog Management & Prioritisation – own the backlog. Working intimately with the delivery team to decide the order of work, taking into account all appropriate views and inputs, and agree on story acceptance criteria.
- Story Acceptance and Sign Off – ensuring that changes implemented have had the desired impact and delivered the desired value.
- Business Value Realisation (i.e. outcomes) - measuring the outcome of changes to assess and conclude on the results.
- Perform design, development and management of new, existing or acquisition products.
- Work with the business and key stakeholders to elaborate user stories and define acceptance criteria, working closely alongside Business/Product Analysts.
- Implement product updates to meet the customer needs.
- Work with the quality assurance team to ensure that delivered system is properly tested and meets the product requirements.
- Prepare and distribute product performance reports to stakeholders.
- Identify product marketing ideas and opportunities based on industry trends, current market environment and competitive trends.
- Consider changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance.
- Role is to report into Strategy & Innovation.
- London based role working intimately with the Delivery Team.
- Key business stakeholders located in Sydney, Australia i.e. 9-11 hours difference with respect to time zone.
 
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrate solid communication skills with a wide range of clients, both internal and external, from technical to non-technical, including presentation skills and technical documentation.
- Successful experience with requirements gathering/documentation, software design concepts, and database modelling.
- Experience working with teams based across several locations and time zones
- Willingness to travel to Sydney, Australia 2-3 times per annum for approximately 3 weeks at a time, this is open to flexibility. 
- Knowledge and understanding of the full lifecycle development process including design, development, testing, implementation documentation/scripting/querying/reporting exhibiting knowledge of client’s source data and processes.
- Experience providing viable product ideas for future enhancements; including the ability to assist with strategic direction of the product.
- Proficient experience resolving technical and client business issues.
- Proficient research, analytical, and logical thinking and reasoning skills and experience in a technical environment.
- Proficient knowledge and experience understanding and analysing client work processes including technical requirements, and related activities.
- Proficient experience creating technical requirements, system specifications, and prototypes.
- Solid organisational skills with a proven track record of prioritising and executing on several priorities successfully.
- Ability to stay current with technology and software products and present recommendations and ideas to create efficiencies/etc.
- Solid knowledge and experience creating and executing on software test plans and reports
