We are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our organisation on a permanent basis. As part of the role there may be a requirement to work shift work.
 
You will primarily be accountable for implementing and improving preventative maintenance strategies to achieve and maintain a high level of equipment safety and reliability.  Fault finding and assisting in the management of assigned equipment performance by applying the maintenance strategy using Daily Failure Analysis (DFA) will be key to your successful performance in this role.
 
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
  • Perform maintenance tasks to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability of mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in the implementation and verification of modifications to equipment, maintenance or operational techniques related to production improvement activities.
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance strategies to achieve and maintain a high level of safety and equipment reliability.
  • Respond to breakdown and failures as required to ensure production capabilities are met.
  • Commit and adhere to all safety procedures, regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with production personnel and other work groups to ensure customer agreed expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Perform maintenance activities in other areas of the plant when required.
 
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
 
  • Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate
  • Forklift Licence
  • Dogman ticket
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • EWP Licence
  • Working at heights training
  • Confined space training
  • Demonstrated commitment to equipment reliability and quality outcomes
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Proven problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Flexibility to provide coverage on shift to ensure plant priorities are addressed
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience within a heavy industrial environment
  • Ability to work continuous 12-hour shift roster
