Job Title: Site Engineer
Location: North Island, NZ

The Company

The company is one of the established civil engineering players within the New Zealand Civil Engineering Industry and indeed has a strong national presence. Due to the construction works happening up and down the North Island they are looking at a year ahead with a strong existing order book of work in hand and to add to that expect solid growth expectations. They expect this level of activity to be sustained and even increase over the next 3+ years.

Main Duties

As a Site Engineer, you will be managing all aspects of road construction with a strong current focus on finishing works and will be part of a dedicated team who will report into the Project Engineer. You will be responsible for managing various parts of the works; including planning and programming of works including resourcing for plant and labour resource, client liaison, through direct contact with your direct reports managing and maintaining quality of the works, managing and controlling H&S elements at all times.

Requirements
The successful candidate will bring to the role;

• 2-5 years + relevant experience ideally on road projects, and hold a relevant degree in civil engineering or similar
• Previous demonstrated experience in delivering technically challenging projects, particularly involving road construction related through on-site supervision and management of onsite activities
• A good understanding and demonstrative experience of general civil engineering and technical elements.
• Previous work history with an established Civil Construction/Asphalting/Earthworks company
• A good understanding and demonstrative experience of such things as earthworks operations, pavement types, standard surfacing and asphalting practices, installation of drainage, services and utilities.
• Have necessary experience and knowledge in other general relating to road construction.
• Be practical-minded and work with hands-on approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills
• A solutions-orientated attitude with a desire to progress in your career.
