Main Duties

As the Design & Engineering Coordinator, you will be coordinating all aspects of the Design Process and be the interface between the Main Contractor and external Design parties. This could be involved with Tender/Bid Scenarios or on live awarded projects which would be typically in excess of $500m in value. 

Other key responsibilities will include:
• Coordinate all aspects of the design process – which includes identifying design-driven opportunities & risks for the project/s.
• Establish and coordinate design changes while also providing technical assistance on design-oriented cost variations.
• Assist in the resolution of design issues while seeking associated approvals from all relevant parties as required
• Establish, monitor and coordinate the design program, while preparing regular design reports that are accurate and on time
• Ensure constructability & cost-effectiveness of the design
• Develop and coordinate the project document control systems and design management procedures
• Coordinate the design procurement and development process in relation to the project program, and other elements such as HSE, Quality & Cost.

The successful candidate will bring to the role:
  • Previous demonstrated experience in Design coordination, particularly in relation to major and complex Rail engineering projects ideally over $500m AU or equivalent.
  • You will have good knowledge of the design process and understand construction sequencing, and constructability.
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Min. 4 years of post-graduate experience.
  • Have a high level of communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Have the right to work and live in Australia

A package that is in-line with the nature of the project, which includes: $115 - $120k pa + super.
