UExcel Medical Recruitment are working with a REGIONAL Victorian hospital for the recruitment of several senior emergency practitioners.

Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Emergency Department
-          General or specialist registration with AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia.  -          At least 10 years of postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including substantial periods of work in Emergency Medicine.
 
The Senior Medical Practitioner (SMP) is required to work with limited or no direction or supervision and exercise a high level of professional judgements and clinical competence. They will be
  • Responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to them in the Emergency Department in collaboration with the responsible Resident Medical Officers, Registrars, consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
  • Involved in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
  • Involved with the Strategic Management Planning for the Emergency Department
  • Involved in continuing education activities
  • Able to undertake complex duties and/or programme initiation, development and review and/or policy development.
 
 
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 
 
Educational/Vocational Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner.

Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision of junior medical staff
  • Wide experience in the management of paediatric and adult emergencies.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex duties, and/or programme initiation, development and review and/or policy development.
  • Ability to liaise with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
